Terms of use
In short: Dating Stats Atlas shows estimates made from public survey data, for your general interest. Enjoy it and share it, but don't treat a figure as a fact about a person, and never use the site to judge or single anyone out.

Who runs the site
Dating Stats Atlas is run by Nathan Nguyen. Questions about these terms go to dating.stats.atlas@gmail.com. By using the site you agree to these terms; if you don't agree, please don't use it.
What the site is
For each US metro area, the site estimates how many single people match your search, how closely they resemble the people who typically pair up with someone like you, and what everyday life there is like. It is not a dating service: there are no accounts, profiles, messages or introductions.
Estimates, not facts about people
- Every figure is an estimate. The counts come from the Census Bureau's household survey, which samples households, so every figure carries some uncertainty. Where the sample is too thin to trust, the site leaves the city out rather than show a number; About us explains how the figures are made.
- The compatibility figure describes a pattern across many real couples. It says nothing about any one person.
- The figures are Dating Stats Atlas's own estimates from Census Bureau and other public data. No government agency made, checked or endorses them.
- We work to keep the figures accurate, but we can't promise they are complete, current or right for your situation, and none of them is advice. Check anything that matters to you, such as where to live, against other sources.
Using the site
You're welcome to browse, search, compare cities and share links to what you find, and to quote a few figures with a link back to the page they came from. Please don't:
- use the site, or anything from it, to make a decision about someone else's housing, credit, job, insurance or education, or to single out, target or treat anyone differently because of their race, ethnicity, sex or any other personal trait;
- copy the site's figures in bulk, scrape the site, collect its data automatically, or reach the service behind it any way other than through its pages;
- present the site's figures as official statistics, or suggest that we or any government agency endorse you or what you offer;
- try to break, overload or get around the site's security or its limits;
- use the site in any way that breaks the law.
